WATCH every stage of the world's most prestigious cycling race as it winds its way through the picturesque French countryside. Since its inception in 1903, the Tour de France has become the most internationally renowned cycling event. During its 93-race history, the event has cemented itself as an institution in France and throughout
Europe where cycling is today considered one of the top sports and professional riders are household names. Each year millions of spectators line the streets of France to watch the race, some having camped out days in advance to ensure they get the best roadside position, with a carnival atmosphere established along the route. The race is an invitation-only event and this year the organising committee has selected 18 teams plus three wildcards to participate in the race. SBS is also celebrating its 17th year of covering the event. The network will broadcast every stage live from Sunday, July 8 (including the prologue on Saturday, July 7) to Sunday, July 29, incorporating a daily half-hour of evening highlights from 6pm.Tour De France, Sunday from 10.30pm, live on SBS.
